Our Story
Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop has been serving the community of Greenpoint, Brooklyn and beyond since the 1950s. Christos Siafakas, owner of Peter Pan, has worked as a baker in donut shops and bakeries throughout New York City since the early 1970s. With his hard work and experience as its foundation, Peter Pan has kept a commitment to quality baked goods and service since its inception.
Most of the donuts and pastries sold at Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop are original selections and recipes with a few recent additions of Christos’s own making. These original recipes are the backbone of our donutshop’s menu as we preserve our traditions and our treats alike serving Greenpointers and the New York City community at-large for generations.
Peter Pan at its core is a family institution as Christos and Donna’s sons as well as Donna’s sister take part in baking and serving the donuts and pastries. Over the years, the Peter Pan family has come to include various employees and bakers, some working with the Siafakases for over a decade, to fortify the bakery and make sure it maintains its goals of a perfect donut served with care at an affordable price. Our family has even come to include our regular customers who come so steadily, and without fail that we often can tell the time by their arrival. These ingredients are what make our hard work all worth it and what has kept the heart of Peter Pan Donutshop beating throughout the decades.
Donna Siafakas: “The only machine back there is to mix it, but everything is done by hand. You saw it. He was hand cutting every doughnut and hand glazing them, and it makes a difference.”
